Celebrating Culture and Community

PRU Inc. began with the vision of dedicated Puerto Rican community leaders who saw the need for a platform to revive, express, and share our rich culture. After a roughly ten-year absence of beloved summer traditions like Areyto Inc., the Puerto Rican Day Parade, and the Loiza Festival, co-founder Joe Rodriguez convened a group of New Haven leaders in 2015 to relaunch a Puerto Rican Festival in the city.

Our early days were filled with grassroots efforts, lively gatherings, and a deep commitment to community engagement driven entirely by an all-volunteer team. From those humble beginnings, we have blossomed into a vibrant celebration of cultural diversity that enriches the Greater New Haven area.

Throughout our journey, PRU Inc. has proudly served thousands of community members and visitors from diverse backgrounds. We have supported families, youth, and individuals through active community service, cultural programs, and memorable celebrations that resonate with our core values. By sponsoring and hosting initiatives like our regional festival, food and toy drives, Parrandas, an annual Three Kings Day Event, and an Award Gala, we actively build bridges across the city. Our community includes everyone who seeks connection, learning, and empowerment within the beautiful tapestry of Puerto Rican culture.
